The Fayetteville Observer is a daily newspaper published in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
It has been locally owned and operated by the same family for more than 80 years. The paper is the oldest continually published newspaper in North Carolina. It was established in 1816 as the Carolina Observer, becoming the Fayetteville Observer in 1883. Initially it was an afternoon paper; it started publishing a morning paper, The Fayetteville Times, in 1973.
