The Wisconsin State Journal is a daily newspaper published in Madison, Wisconsin by Lee Enterprises.

The State Journal is the second largest publication in the state of Wisconsin. It is mainly distributed in a seventeen county region in south-central Wisconsin. The paper was founded by William W. Wyman in 1839 as the Madison Express, an afternoon weekly, and in 1852 evolved into the daily Wisconsin State Journal.
